NZ wood sculpture artists, Amelia Fagence's art piece for home.

This bench is created for her first ever solo show in Auckland. 
'Equilibrium' 12-29th January 23' 
It has made with South Island grown elm timber, She uses two entire tree to build this collection. Elm is robust and it has beautiful grain patterns, beautiful unique material, especially in Northern Island, NZ.
Using skill sew to make a rough shape and sanded back to finalise the outline.  Long time sanding makes very beautiful smooth surface.  
The U shape is detachable so you can move the bench easily. 
You can see some bow Tsu-gi technique for mending the cracks or No nai,l Japanese building joinery techniques are applied in this furniture range. The detail become a featured of design.

They are finished with a natural blend of plant oils and wax to polish.
