Aona Hayashi^[28]

Tokyo based artist, Aona Hayashi creates beautiful compositions with a focus on silhouettes, angles and aesthetic. What sets her apart from other artists is that she works exclusively in the colour black.

The bold motifs of Aona’s striking works are not only derived from simple still life settings, but also everyday objects that surround her world.

Using calligrapher's ink on natural textured paper, Aona works prolifically to achieve a bold monochromatic body of work that is strong and distinctive. Aona has done a number of notable collaborations with other artists making her one of Tokyo's most sort after up and coming artists. Her work is only showing in the selected gallery throughout Japan, one in NYC and now us in New Zealand.
