This piece was slowly painted with slips and terra sigillata made from materials collected over the past few years around south Kaipara. This includes clay from roadside slips in South Head and spoil from the Muriwai brick quarry. The work is covered in ash glaze made from locally gathered driftwood, reeds, dandelions and some of my pit firing ash.
