Born [16-02-00] in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, 36.8483° S, 174.7625° E], Oscar Perress.
Oscar fashions metal [silver, gold, bronze] objects with a capability of ornamenting either the body, or the home - or perhaps something between. The objects are largely counterintuitive to natural motion, not to say restrictive but rather built to mould an understanding of one’s form, range of actions and interactions with the space in which they inhabit or occupy all in both a temporal & a physical sense.
Each piece is tarnished by chemical, by friction and when kept in proximity to each other, they reactivate such processes, developing a living patina. the purpose given to each object, and how it is inhabited/occupies space determines the evolution of its form. All pieces are unique and will never be reproduced. His pieces are made for exclusive release or by commission only.
