Sarah Harrison studied ceramics at Carrington Polytech/Unitec in the early 90s returning to the island in 1994 to establish her studio Shoal Bay Pottery, mainly high firing stoneware and porcelain in a gas fired kiln.
She did her first wood-firing in Jamaica in 1997 and have been wood-firing on the island since 2013 when I built her own kiln.
She's been involved in exhibitions on the mainland but mainly collected direct from her studio.
Her studio is located on the beautiful piece of land in Shoal Bay. Sometime she will have another potters or artists to share the studio with. It would be a beautiful experience, people can come and stay her property to exchange their skills.
Beautiful hand-crafted tableware from Great Barrier Island, NZ.
