ALTARS by Jenna Saraco (2024)

$85.00

Inspired by an image taken in 1961 of her father as an altar boy during a transatlantic trip to Italy, and heavily influenced by her grandmother's home textiles and personal style, ALTARS is a visual extension of familial history by Jenna Sararo.
Exploring the antiquity of its daily presence, Jenna builds a material language that sews together traditional costume and domestic fabrics from her time in Sardinia. These are then repurposed and reworked with a contemporary energy into wearable items and photographed between Sardinia and New York City. ALTARS finds a thread between the interiors and fashion worlds, whilst incorporating the traditions of Jenna’s Italian heritage.

ALTARS is edited by Yasmine Ganley, and designed by Natasha Mead and published by anyonebooks.
