Hitoshi Morimoto is a talented Japanese Bizen artist who has a strong following from selected galleries throughout Japan and U.S. We have been showcasing his work in past exhibitions, his works a perfect execution of the balance between tradition & Modern / East & West. His Bizen works which fired with Anagama kiln are always well-received by our audience. He is one of the lading Bizen potter who is recognised internationally.
Mr. Morimoto is traveling to New Zealand for the opening of Modern Japan Craft exhibition 24' this year, his Bizen Tea-ware is collectable, taking this opportunity of him being in NZ, his knowledge around traditional Japanese tea ceremony with Matcha, we have created three courses of pairing experiences, tea & sweets included making your own matcha with using his tea bowl.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, experience his tableware and enjoy tasting of wonderful Japanese tea and crafted sweets by Naho Hibino from Nichica & Masami Ono from Public Record, this is the collaborative session between one of great chef in Japan and Masami's. In last year, we held similar workshop with different artist, it went a great success that people are still talking about the particular event.
