Born in Kobe in 1983. Graduated from Pottery at Osaka University of Arts' Department of Crafts in 2005. Completed her studies at Tajimi City (which is famous for Pottery). The vessels she creates are fascinating with an unexpected mystical colouration from the firing process. The curves of each vessel are meticulously formed through hand building, without using an electric wheel. The unglazed Yakishime ware is beautifully burnished, giving her works a delicate earthen touch that feels as soft as skin.
There are two different types of firing process.
Shino glaze with Raku styled firing. There is a slight metal contain in the clay so during process of firing it creates these beautiful red appearing on glaze. Watertight. This piece has a beautiful silhouette, the unique balance of the proportion and smooth surface.
Unglazed however it's fired in an kiln with high temperature and special techniques to closes off the surface to make it waterproof.
Her work is completely unique and one-off product, it has a beautiful silhouette and the unique balance of the proportion. Perfect for your dining table to entertain your guests, utilising many different ways. It will also be a great additional for you interior.
