Misa Kuromoto is the owner and art director of STUDIO crossing gallery. She designs products and often focuses on local businesses. She is also involved in many projects, hosting community events to enhance her township etc… She also owns the beautiful gallery in Gifu, where she is based. The gallery is called Gallery Crossing where she represents contemporary Japanese artists who are highly regarded in Japan. They will definitely be leading Japanese crafts for the next generation. She’s always dedicated and works with her artists to find the best ways to present their work. She even finds ways to show their works overseas.
Gallery crossing is widely recognised as one of the greater galleries in Japan, hence she has been involved many interesting projects, such as developing a new knife range with an authentic Japanese knife company which have been running for hundreds of years.
Misa graduated at Tokyo Geidai, one of most prestigious Art universities in Tokyo, where she studied the Art communication degree.
After her graduation, she worked in the food industry, then in 2012, she became independent and started her own company. In 2017, she moved to Minokamo, in Gifu, and settled in the town that she currently works in. Public Record has been working with Misa since we first opened the store. We showcase artists and create many events together.
